Windows 10

  1. Download and install VLC Player: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
  2. Power on and pair your Live Deck with an EVO or EVO 2 aircraft
  3. On PC (Windows 10) Connect the Live Deck to your computer with an ethernet cable
    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Then “Network & Internet”
    3. Towards the bottom of the screen click “Network and Sharing Center”
    4. On the Unidentified network click on “Ethernet” next to connections
    5. Select “Properties”
    6. Select “Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)” in the list.
      1. Make sure the box next to it has a check mark
    7. Click “Properties”
    8. Select the dot for “Use the following IP address”
      1. IP Address: 192.168.0.100
      2. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
      3. Leave the rest blank and click “Ok”
    9. Open VLC Player
      1. Click Media -> Open Network Stream
      2. In the “Network” tab enter this URL: rtsp://192.168.0.1/realtime
        1. Click the box “Show more options”
        2. Change Caching to 50ms, this setting is for an average strength computer
          1. Depending on the processing power of the computer you may need adjust the caching lower to reduce latency of the video stream. You also may have to increase the caching on a weaker computer.
  1. This setup only needs to be performed once on the transmitting computer unless the transmitting computer is plugged back into an ethernet port providing internet service. Then use the following steps:
    1. To Plug back in the ethernet cable, follow the instructions back through to Step 3-g and recheck the box for “Obtain an IP address automatically” and click Ok.
  2. User will have to setup the ethernet connection on the transmitting computer again before use of Live Deck


MacOS

  1. Download and install VLC Player: https://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html
  2. Power on and pair your Live Deck with an EVO or EVO 2 aircraft
  3. On MacOS Connect the Live Deck to your computer with an ethernet cable
    1. Open “System Preferences”
    2. Network
    3. Select the correct ethernet adapter
      1. On the Configure IPv4 tab, choose “Manually”
      2. Input IP Address: 192.168.0.100
      3. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
      4. Click “Apply”
    4. Open VLC Player
      1. On the menu bar select “VLC” then “Preferences”
      2. On the bottom left select “Show all”
      3. On the left meu bar, select “Stream output”
      4. Change the value in the box for “Stream Output Mixer Caching (ms)” to 50.
        1. Depending on the processing power of the computer you may need adjust the caching lower to reduce latency of the video stream. You also may have to increase the caching on a weaker computer.
      5. Select “Save”
      6. Select “File” and “Open Network
      7. In the “Network” tab enter this URL: rtsp://192.168.0.1/realtime
      8. Click “Open”
  4. This setup only needs to be performed once on the transmitting computer unless the transmitting computer is plugged back into an ethernet port providing internet service. Then use the following steps:
    1. Plug back in the ethernet cable, follow the instructions back through to Step 3-c-i and select “Using DHCP” and then “Apply”
    2. User will have to setup the ethernet connection on the transmitting computer again before use of Live Deck
